Godly Play II

Sundays from 10:15 am - the Exchange of Peace at the end of the Parish Hall wing

For 2nd grade through 5th grade children

In most religious education, children are told who God is. In Godly Play, children discover who God is. Godly Play is a Montessori method of telling Bible stories, parables, and liturgical lessons about religious traditions using three-dimensional materials. It invites listeners into the stories and encourages them to connect the stories with personal experiences through wondering questions and open-ended responses.

Nursery

Sundays from 10:30 am - the Exchange of Peace (now in the youth room)

Please let us know if there are special instructions or needs for your child. No snacks are provided. You may bring your own snacks (we are a nut-free environment). Please label snacks and other personal items. We will let you know if your child is having a difficult time staying in the nursery.

Camp Henry

All children and youth at St. James have the opportunity to attend Camp Henry in the summer, which is the Episcopal Camp run by the Diocese of Western North Carolina. Camp Henry is held at Lake Logan and is a fun time away from family where children and youth can explore faith, fun, and God’s creation in a beautiful setting. For scholarship information, contact the parish office.
