A wedding represents a moment of great significance and is a sacred moment of blessing. As a sacrament of the church, the marriage rite is a service of worship based upon a solemn, public, and life-long covenant made and celebrated in the presence of God and before a priest and congregation. For Christians, marriage is an invitation for people to share life bound together by the Spirit through the love of God.

Nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, the modern nave and exquisite stained glass of St. James Church is a beautiful setting for a wedding. The spacious and thoughtfully detailed parish hall of the church is an option for pre and post wedding events.

The rite of marriage in the Episcopal Church is available to all couples. All guidelines and requirements concerning weddings at St. James Church apply equally and without exception to couples of any gender or non-conforming orientation. LGBTQ+ couples are welcome to be married at St. James Church.
